Gogoi confident about solving AP-Assam border dispute
NET News Network Itanagar, Oct 16: Assam Chief Minister, Tarun Gogoi has
assured to find an amicable solution to the contentious inter-state border
dispute haunting the neighbouring states of Arunachal Pradesh and Assam
for over two decades. Gogoi, who was here on Oct 13 last as an AICC observer to
oversee as the election of Congress Legislature Party (CLP) leader, said,
“we will sort it out mutually with the congress ready to form government
in the state”, told this correspondent. In his comment later, the newly sowrn-in Chief Minister,
Gegong Apang, who was unanimously chosen as the CLP leader, said that an
inter-state boundary committee would be constituted soon to expedite the
matter. Though Gogoi failed to prescribe any time frame for thrashing
out a solution, Apang empathetically said “ as soon as possible”.
